Description

A superb volunteer opportunity, giving you the chance to get close to big cats in the heart of Africa. From Windhoek, the compact Namibian capital, travel north to a big cat rehabilitation and conservation project where you’ll be staying in basic but comfortable accommodation. In the mornings you’ll be working as part of a closely-knit team to help transform an old cattle station into a thriving game reserve. Afternoons will be spent tracking cheetah and leopards to gather important data on their movements. There’ll also be a chance to spot wild dogs and spend a few nights sleeping under the stars plus step behind the scenes at the daily feeding of the more than 100 big cats cared for by the rehabilitation programme. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more personal insight into Africa and the lives of the big cats than this.
