An 11-day tour of Bolivia introducing you to this mountainous South American nation. You’ll start in La Paz, the world’s highest capital city, with its bustling streetlife and markets – be sure to visit the bizarre ‘Witches’ Market’ where all manner of potions and cures are sold. Then hop on an internal flight to reach the former colonial centre of Sucre, dubbed the White City and with a rich ensemble of historic buildings and heritage. There’s good hiking and cycling opportunities here, too, and you’ll have time to really get to know the area during your three-night stay. Next you’ll visit Potosi, sitting at over 4,000m and the highest city of its size in the world. Here you can visit one of its old silver mines before setting off for a highlight of the trip – a 4WD adventure through the Salar de Uyuni salt flats. Witness huge mountain lagoons, active volcanic peaks and bubbling geysers in this unique and wild landscape. After returning to civilization catch the night train or bus back to La Paz for a final night in the capital at the end of your Bolivian adventure.
