Description
Take a short tour of the outback, heading deep into central Australia to discover the region’s rich Aboriginal heritage and remarkable desert scenery. You’ll start your journey from Alice Springs, joining your tour leader on a 4WD adventure across rolling plains and past multi-coloured rock formations. Experience bush camping in permanent safari tents, gaze upon starry desert skies and enjoy traditional Aussie meals in the open. No trip to this ancient landscape is complete without visiting Uluru, or Ayers Rock, the revered monolithic rock outcrop, whose colours subtly change as the desert sun passes over. Explore caves where Aboriginal art is still visible, learn about local culture and hike to impressive viewpoints. You’ll also experience sunrise at Kata Tjuta, stay at Kings Creek Cattle Station and trek around the rim of Kings Canyon, where more breathtaking Australian vistas await.
