Description
This 12-day tour of China takes you from Beijing for a classic tour around many of this vast country’s most celebrated sights, as well as some lesser-known gems. Tour the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, explore traditional ‘hutong’ neighbourhoods and board the sleeper train to Xi’an, the former imperial capital. Immerse yourself in history and culture and feast on delicious local food – you’ll even have a chance to take a Chinese cooking lesson. There’ll be a trip to the world famous Terracotta Warriors and a stay in Yangshuo, surrounded by spectacular limestone karst scenery. The tour ends in Shanghai, China’s fastest growing city, where art deco waterside buildings contrast with towering skyscrapers.
