Description
Trekking in Iceland will make you appreciate the extremes and diversity of this unique island landscape. With five days of moderate hiking in the Fjallabak region, backed by support vehicles, you’ll have time to appreciate Iceland’s sometimes surreal volcanic and glaciated landscape. Pass MountHekla, the island’s largest active volcano, and trek past sulphur vents, black sand and pumice. Enter canyons and cross high passes to walk from camp to camp, surrounded by icecaps and glaciers. A highlight will be the views from the 3,661m FimmvorduhalsPass, where you’ll be able to see across the PorsmorkValley. At Landmannalaugar you can even take a dip in the steaming natural hot springs. You’ll start and end the tour staying in central accommodation in lively Reykjavik, and while on the trek, all meals are included.
