Description
One of the world’s greatest treks, the Inca Trail takes you through the heart of the Andes to the celebrated mountain city of Machu Picchu. To get there, you’ll take an internal flight from Lima after a night in the Peruvian capital and acclimatize in the handsome colonial city of Cuzco – gateway to the mountains. From there you’ll travel to the Sacred Valley to tour the atmospheric ruins before commencing your four-day camping trek. Although the distances aren’t that long, the terrain is very varied and there are some long days of hiking. The trek is achievable and immensely rewarding for anyone who’s reasonably fit and with a sense of adventure. If you want to experience Machu Picchu without the hiking, you can spend extra time in Cuzco and then travel by train and bus to the Inca ruins.

Important Information
Portions of the Inca Trail will be closed for general maintenance during the month of February each year. Also, closures may occur at various times throughout the year due to inclement weather or other conditions beyond our control. During these periods, any tour affected will hike the Lares Trek.
Please note : We need your full passport details at the time of booking for the Inca Trail permits.
Those passengers not able or interested in the hike can spend 2 days in Cuzco, then travel by train to Aguas Calientes, where they overnight. Next morning they take the bus to the Machu Picchu entrance and rendezvous with the hikers at the ruins. If you decide not to do the hike we need to know prior to your departure in order to obtain train tickets.
