Description
The Italian island of Sardinia is a wonderful corner of the Mediterranean, and this self-guided cycling trip is the perfect way to tour it. As your luggage is transferred between your overnight stops, you'll be free to enjoy your route unencumbered. Armed with detailed route notes and maps, you'll cycle down undulating country lanes and coastal roads in the island's south west, through olive groves, oak valleys and to secluded coves and rugged cliffs. As well as the great cycling, the route is designed to give you time to get off your bikes to explore a little – this is an area with plenty of culture and one that prides itself on its unique regional cuisine. Your itinerary includes stops at wineries, olive oil mills, organic farms and traditional bakeries and you'll also enjoy delicious home cooked evening meals at charming guesthouses and 'agriturismo' farm hotels.
