Description
Take Kilimanjaro’s Rongai Route, the quietest and most scenic trek to the 5,894m summit of Africa’s highest peak. As this itinerary is longer than most with the aim of acclimatisating to the high altitudes on the mountain, the success rate of reaching the summit is much higher with a more relaxed itinerary.Start close to the Tanzania-Kenya border and hike through forest, moor and farmland, with a day acclimatizing at craggy Mawenzi Tarn Camp. Witness an unforgettable sunrise at the summit, before returning tired but elated via the Marangu Route. This is demanding trekking at altitude, so you’ll need to be fit, but it’s more than worth the effort to complete one of the world’s greatest treks.
