Description
Discover the dunes and oases of Morocco’s Sahara desert on this bilingual family camel trekking holiday, combining British and French families. Starting from Marrakech, you’ll drive through the High Atlas – crossing Morocco’s highest road – and along the rocky Draa Valley to meet your Berber trek crew and camel train at the edge of the Sahara. Trekking the traditional way, with the opportunity to ride the camels for parts of the route, you’ll stay in desert campsites and by remote oasis villages. Visit the old kasbah of Ait Ouazzik, clamber through craggy gorges and reach high plateaus. Sleep out among the Barghou dune fields, search for fossils in the Saredrar Mountains and stay in traditional nomads’ tents. This is a real Saharan adventure in unforgettable desert landscapes. After the trek you’ll have a complete change of scene, with a further night in Marrakech and time to experience the bazaars and streetlife that make this city so special.
