Description
This is an African cycling holiday for mountain bikers with a real sense of adventure. While the cycling itself isn’t particularly tough, and suitable for regular weekend riders, the experience is certainly unique in a region where mountain biking is virtually unheard of. From Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro Depression, you’ll cycle on rough, seldom-used jeep trails and cattle tracks beneath Africa’s highest mountain and camp out under the expansive African sky. Throughout the journey you’ve excellent wildlife-spotting opportunities, and may see elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, antelope, baboons, ostrich and more. Bike across the Maasai Plains and through the Simanjiro Game Controlled Area to the shores of LakeManyara. Then climb the Rift Valley escarpment to LakeEyasi and finally reach the incredible Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll have a day on 4WD safari to view its abundant wildlife population and can relax with sundowner drinks at the end of a true African adventure.
