These are just some of the delights awaiting you on this unique cycling tour of Sikkim, which may be India’s smallest state, but is also one of its most diverse. Sited to the east of Nepal in the Himalayan foothills you’ll discover a rich culture and some excellent cycling, taking you from sub-tropical climate to lofty mountaintops. The adventure will start in Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, from where you’ll fly north to reach Sikkim itself. On your journey you’ll ride to sacred Kachiuri Lake, bustling Gangtok, Sikkim’s capital, and to altitudes of more than 2,000m. Views of the Himalayas will unfold and you’ll end the trip in Darjeeling, a town steeped in history and tradition. From here you’ll have the chance to catch the magnificent sunrise from Tiger Hill, where the views can stretch all the way to Mount Everest. Spectacular cycling, scenery and culture combined.
