  Description

The South Downs Way is one of the UK’s most accessible long distance routes. Its entire 102 miles from Winchester in the west to Eastbourne consists of bridleways, meaning it’s superbly suited for a mountain biking tour. With plenty of short sharp inclines rewarded by rolling downhill sections, there’s a good variety of terrain, including wide open views and exciting woodland trails. Picnic lunches and refreshments are provided en route. You’ll take four days to ride the route, stopping in comfortable B&B and taking advantage of expert guiding and a vehicle back-up crew throughout. Overnight stops will be in pretty downland villages, where you can recharge your batteries with a hearty meal and perhaps a pint of the local tipple in a cosy country pub.
