Description
This is an exciting trek across the Shingo La (5090m) to the southern edge of the Himalayan region of Zanskar. On a reverside trail, we pass beneath the towering rock peak of Gumburanjan and pay a visit to the impressive cliff-side monastery of Phuktal. Beyond the Phirtse La (5250m), we trek out to the Leh-Manali road and descend the Chandra River to lovely Moon Lake. Including the fascinating overland journey to and from Manali, this is a classic circuit trek in a remote and unspoiled area.
