Description
A safari in Tanzania promises some of East Africa’s finest landscape and biggest concentrations of wildlife. From the lively northern town of Arusha you’ll enter LakeManyaraNational Park for your first taste of game viewing and a chance to tour a local village and market. Next it’s off to the vast plains of the Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge, the ‘cradle of mankind’, where some of the first human remains were found. Camp under starry skies and set off on 4WD game drives into the Serengeti, stopping at waterholes to see the animals come to feed. You’ll be hard pushed to find a more inspiring location than your next stop – camping on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. This huge volcanic caldera harbours a dense population of wildlife – some 30,000 mammals live here and you’ll get a chance to see some on a tour of the crater floor.
