Description
This outstanding nine-day tour takes you from the Andes to the Amazon for an experience that’s hard to beat. Starting from the friendly Peruvian capital Lima, you’ll fly down to Cuzco, with time to acclimatize in this fantastic old mountain city. Then step aboard the train to pass through the scenic Sacred Valley to reach the end of the line at the thermal spa town of Aguas Calientes – the gateway to Machu Picchu. Spend a day at the awe-inspiring Inca city before returning to Cuzco with more time to appreciate the area’s many Inca ruins and lively markets. For a complete contrast you’ll then fly across the Andes to arrive at Puerto Malconado in the Amazonian lowlands. Meet your local guide and head deep into the jungle by motor canoe to spend two nights in splendid isolation in a rustic eco-friendly lodge in the Tambopata Rainforest.
