Description
Yachana Lodge is one of the world's foremost ecotourism centres. It's reached via an internal flight high above the Andes into the heart of the Amazon, followed by a journey far upriver into the jungle aboard motor canoe. Here you'll be surrounded by nature and rainforest culture in Ecuador's UpperAmazonRiver Basin. Join indigenous guides on jungle treks, meet a traditional healer, enjoy local food, try your hand with a blowgun and spear and visit a local school. There will be night walks as well so you can see the nocturnal side of the rainforest. There's time to relax, too, with lodge cabins all featuring private balconies overlooking the river or forest. The lodge even has its own butterfly house and there will also be a night walk in the 4,300 acres of rainforest adjoining Yachana.
